On the night Lincoln and his wife went to Ford’s Theater for the last time, 12-year-old Tad was at Grover’s Theater watching Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp. During the performance, the Grover’s Theater manager interrupted and announced that the president had been shot. Tad was hysterical with grief.
